"To save one individual is equivalent to saving the entire world!"

LEV TOV

B'nai Israel takes care of the less fortunate by suppling food once per month at the St. Francis House, please join us!

Lev Tov means "Good Heart" in Hebrew and it is our way of expressing a basic core value of Jewish life.  Our tradition demands that we look outward to provide for the needs of the community and for the needs of all those who are in need of help in the world.

For many years now, Congregation B'nai Israel, under the past leadership of Elsa Kula, dedicated itself to providing meals at Gainesville's shelter for the homeless.  Countless volunteers have shopped, cooked, baked and spent time serving and greeting the homeless of our community.  We are proud of our responsibility to the citizens of our community and we are delighted to contribute to the welfare of needy individuals and families.

In addition, the Lev Tov committee undertakes other projects designed to help those in need. Come join us and be part of our efforts at Tikkun Olam - Repairing a Broken World!
